Shinkichi Tajiri (Los Angeles, 1923) has lived in the Netherlands since 1956 and was a member of the 1950s Cobra group. Although his reputation has been mainly as a sculptor, film and photography have always been important to Tajiri. This exhibition will feature photographs taken by him from 1955 onwards. Subjects include his wife Ferdi, cyclists and the Berlin wall. The accompanying publication (€ 9.90) will focus on photographs and video recordings of the 43-km-long Berlin wall. These were made by Tajiri in the early '70s.
