Sunday Art: Golden Age To Abstraction
€5 per person, excl. admission to museum (entry ticket required)

Come to the Gemeentemuseum on the first Sunday of every month to enjoy a short background talk on a particular exhibition, artist, or item in the collection. Art historians Pamela Loeven and Monique Varma-Lamme are passionate about the museum and keen to share their knowledge with you. Following each talk, they'll be pleased to answer your questions.

Here at the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, baroque painting comes face to face with abstraction. Vermeer's View of Delft and Rembrandt's Anatomy Lesson hang just steps away from Mondrian's Victory Boogie Woogie and the paintings of the Hague School. Why did artists decide to abandon the traditional way of paintings in the mid-nineteenth century and where has this led?
